Brookings: Focus Workforce Development Programs

At the end of 2011, the Brookings Institute released a report recommending an approach to workforce development to increase employment and raise wages.  The full report is worth a read.  One short take away:  intensive programs focused on particular sectors provide better results (particularly for displaced workers) than more general courses of shorter duration.  The graphic summarizes an evaluation of the benefits of various approaches to training offered by different types of organizations.  Click on it to enlarge.  The full report is here.
